Two cute glass penguin sculptures were purchased from a local glass blower artisan (whom has since passed away) back in the late 1990's. They are brand new vintage, as this item is a part of our old stock and was never used. One of a kind!
The penguins are glued onto a lovely piece of Australian mallee tree root which was cut, sanded then hand brushed with a polyurethane two pack coating to accentuate the grains and natural colour of the timber, giving it a nice glossy finish.
* Large penguin: 50mm high x 35mm wide x 25mm thick small penguin: 40mm high x 33mm wide x 25mm thick
* Mallee Root: 80mm x 95mm wide x 32.7mm thick
(Conversion: 2.5cm = 25mm = approx 1" inch)

Mallee is the growth habit of certain eucalypt species that grow with multiple stems springing from an underground lignotuber or mallee root. Mallee woodlands and shrublands are considered one of Australia's major vegetation groups.
They are all natives of Western Australia and, like all mallees, are incredibly drought tolerant. Each Mallee Root piece is characterised by its unique texture, shape and colour.
Each one is individual - yours is unique!
